    Adrian's been doing web strategy and development for over a decade — politicians, daycares, contractors, plumbers, restaurants, spray tanners. Long enough to watch agencies bill ten grand for work that takes a couple of days.

    The math stopped making sense around 2024. AI tools collapsed the cost of producing premium web work, but agency invoices didn't move. The savings got pocketed instead of passed on. Small operators kept getting quoted obscene numbers and walking away with nothing.
